Terrorists Attack In London: Fury and Protest

One week after the attack in London and a 25-year-old soldier Lee Rigby had been killed, the anti-Muslim protest is still marching on. With the backlash of anti-Muslim in London, there have been over 2,000 people joined into this protest. The protest is headed by EDL, English Defense League. However, Imam of Brighton said there is nothing to worry about, the British people are still uniting together. There has been a while since last terrorists attack in London, but it does not mean the conflicts between British religions had been long gone. And this attack and death just re-spark the anti-Muslim war for London citizens. Although majority in London still believe there will not be further conflicts going on, the situation London Muslims have to face currently is still not positive. I think London government and the leader of London Muslim community have to work through this together, otherwise the misunderstanding between London Muslims and average citizens will cause more conflicts and chaos.

President Obama: Stop Violence Against Muslims in Myanmar

President Barack Obama urged the president Thein Sein of Myanmar on last Monday to halt violence against a Muslim minority and called for an end to the killings of Rohingya Muslims in western Myanmar's Rakhine state. As I wrote on last week’s post, the conflicts between Myanmar Buddhists and Muslims have drew attention from all over the world. The violence by Buddhism has caused at least 192 Muslims been killed and over 140,000 are still homeless. Obama said praise economic and political reform is the primary goal Myanmar should focus. Although president Obama show his concerning on Muslims, the comments under the news make people upset. Many people criticize Obama on this because it seems he is standing on the side of Muslims but not Christians. This is sad that many people judge Muslim refugees as terrorists. As I said all the time, most Muslims are no different from us, they want peaceful life but the fact is they are currently homeless. How can people be so cruel and want to wipe out all the Muslims just because their religion? This will only make them become no different from terrorists, too. Give Muslims who in misfortune some caring, all you need is love.

Buddhism and Islam: Why We Hate Each Other?

As I blogged on April 30th, Myanmar, a Buddhism country, which its religion requires its followers to not kill and love peace. However, the Buddhist monks extremely hatred Muslims and there had been several bloody shambles happened. So why monks hate Muslims so much? Well, the primary reason is hard to say, but many people think monks think Muslims are guilty because they slain animals when they celebrate their festivals. Also, Buddhist monks think the large sizes of Muslim families are dangerous and they are potential risks of society. However, as I considered, because Islam is a niche religion in Myanmar and the followers there are few, so Buddhists cannot take the risk that Muslims may effects Buddhism’s dominating position. So in one word, whatever how the rules says, Myanmar Muslims are just another victim in benefit conflicts.

Katherine Russell: Dangerous Muslim or an Average Girl

Katherine Russell, wife of Boston Marathon bomber suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev now is still under Fed's scrutiny and watching. From the Boston bombing until now, different news medias have different voices about Katherine. Most people think she is just a innocent average girl who just brainwashed by her husband and any over judgement is unfair. “She was a great girl, and a good student, and normal,” a person who is familiar with the Russell family says. Any story written about her childhood would be boring, the person assures a reporter. “She was normal.” However, because Katherine converted into Islam, some news medias think she also took part in the bombing. Anyway, we still can not judge a widow participated the terrorist attack or not depend on her religion, like my previous posts said, most Muslims are average people just like us.

Muslim victims of Myanmar: Conflicts and Homeless People

Myanmar is a predominantly Buddhist country, but about 5 percent of its 60 million people are Muslim. They face a growing campaign of anti-Islamic sentiment led by radical Buddhist monks. In Myanmar's central heartlands, justice and security is elusive for thousands of Muslims whose homes were destroyed by Buddhist mob during conflict in March. During the violence, 43 people were killed and most of them are Muslims. In additional, Buddhist monks make nearly 13,000 Muslims had to leave their home and move to prison-like camps. "It's for their own security," said a police officer at a camp inside a sports stadium on Meikhtila's outskirts. However, the live situation there is not well. The Muslims in Myanmar currently are still isolated from the majority.
So as a Buddhism dominated country, I think this kind of tragedy is happening because the government has bias on Muslims. Because the government members in Myanmar are mostly Buddhists, so they may have hatred to Muslims even themselves. So I think if even the government of a country abandoned its niche religion believers, for those homeless people, there is no other way to survive but leave the country and ask for foreign help.

On April 15th, 2003, there were a bombing attack during Boston Marathon, two died and hundred injured. After the attack, the most questions people asking are"who is responsible for this?". American Muslim organizations are condemning the Boston Marathon bombings and urging Americans of all faiths to join them in praying for the victims and their families right after the attack. And CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper says it's unfortunate that Muslims are often instantly considered suspects in such attacks. However, Erik Rush, Conservative Columnist, made some bad Muslim joke after Boston Marathon explosions, and caused many people commented to against him.A Libyan called Hend Amry wrote, "Please don’t be a ‘Muslim.’" on her twitter, explained how sad nowadays many Americans think Muslims are always responsible for all bad things.
